Haiku from Hawai'i

Once startling insects
Chinese Flying Cockroaches
Are eaten by Cats.
:-----------------------------:
Giant Chinese Roaches
& Large pods of Feral Cats
Eat one another.
:-----------------------------:
Big Sky forms on Sea
Will become Stratomurals
With details of fate--
:-----------------------------:
Humid all day long
@ Night; Stays warm until three
Then-- May catch your breath.
:-----------------------------:
Hilo; Now like old--
--Honolulu; Except thatBeach;
Three hours away.
:-----------------------------:
[ No Beaches ]
Big Island is new
Geologically speaking
Land falls off at sea.
:-----------------------------:
Sea Turtles hiding
Under their big wet blanket
Wink; When you see them!
:-----------------------------:
Wash new bloodied socks
Will hang & hang from back pack
But will never dry.
:-----------------------------:
Crazy people here
Are nearly always locals
Don't come to this place.
:-----------------------------:
When sleepy: Night waits
The last light holds on & on
People close their doors.
:-----------------------------:
Much foolish walking
Makes blisters to fill with blood
Then ruin new socks.
:-----------------------------:
Japanese you'll see
In photoes are chosen ones
Most are quite ugly!
:-----------------------------:
Airport in Hilo
It is nearly right downtown
Wave to passengers.
:-----------------------------:
Two thousand & four
Is much too hot & humid
Even for Hawai'i
:-----------------------------:
Expensive Bus tours
Take Damp Masses far away
To see nothing much.
:-----------------------------:
Hawai'is stomach
Everything inside of it
Slowly Digested!
