This assumes that The Brain is The Bearer of Consciousness.

All of The Thoughts of This Brain
( That we are considering )
is produced within The Brain.
All of The Thoughts of Consciousness,
It’s Consciousness; is produced within The Brain.
One Curious Aspect of this;
Is that The Thoughts that The Brain is creating, are then somehow ( ??? ) Represented as Conscious Thoughts ‘somewhere’ — Presumably; within The Brain.
What is so very curious about this; is that this repository of Consciousness is _Only Aware_ of these Thoughts.
This ‘Consciousness’ can’t/doesn’t create any of these thoughts, nor, having experienced them; may contribute any additional thoughts to those that it is ‘considering’.
Which; of course; it isn’t.
This Repository of Consciousness is only watching a film of thoughts that are being brought to it from The Electro-Chemical Brain, whose own mechanisms produce these thoughts as a consequence of all of its sensory inputs, & The Churning thereafter of those experiences & tactile impressions.
Freewill. Ha!
Anyways.
Let us imagine that we have a camera, very unlike any camera that we ( ? ) are familiar with, but we are calling it a camera for The Sake of Convenience.
This BrainCamera can take a snapshot
( shutterspeed : 1:TenThousand’s of a Second ( ? ) )
Of The Neurons in The Brain.
( The One that we’re considering )
The ‘Image’ of this picture depicts all of The Neurons in an entirely accurate state of Electrical & Chemical Excitation. Some are very bright, some are dim. They are Not 1’s & 0’s, they are shown as a wide spectrum of middling greys.
This Image might then be said to represent An Instant of Consciousness.
What if; Then; Having accepted this proposal —
We make a movie camera of this type, so that we gather together a few million such snapshots & are able to ‘Run’ Them through a projector.
What are we experiencing ?
If we compare this BrainMovieCamera to A Regular MovieCamera, The Movie is Not at all The Same as The thing it took The Movie of…
But in The BrainMovieCamera; we might argue that we have recorded every significant detail of The Thought Process, & are now ‘Watching’ it produce those Identical Thoughts that The Brain actually thought a few minutes previously.
Now for The Good Part.
What if The Brain were thinking about Freewill, & how certain it was that it was experiencing this Freewill at that moment.
& while we watch this BrainMovie over & over again; The BrainMovie is convinced, over & over again, that it’s Conscious Thoughts are of Genuine Freewill. ( ??? ) !
What if then:
The Brain were thinking of Rene Descartes’ famous dictum; I think; therefore; i am.
Or to rephrase it sightly;
« How could i possibly be mistaken that i exist, because my thoughts of existence, prove ‘that’ existence. »
But now — We have a BrainMovieCamera that has taken a BrainMovie of an Actual Brain thinking these thoughts, & The ( The ‘Film’ of Consciousness ) is convinced that It exists.
Does It Exist ?
