Avengers: End Game / Worst Time Travel Film Ever !

Why Avengers: End Game is The Worst Time Travel Film Ever

There are essentially 5 Kinds of Time Travel Films;
1) The Kind where Time Travel is Impossible, which it is,
2) Unless we’re living in A Screen Saver Reality; In which Case Your Perceived Attempt to ‘Go Back in Time’ is merely your Bubble of Consciousness Creating a Perfectly Ordinary Future in which you think you’re going back in Time & Returning to your Own Present.
3) You create A Time Machine & Discover to your great annoyance that you can’t change The Past. ( Because your Future Self has already gone back into The Past & Done whatever you are now attempting to do ! )
4) There is only One TimeLine; Which you can Change, But when you do; Everything Changes. There’s No Changing one little thing. If you make any changes at all; There are Irrevocable Changes to everything, & The Farther you Go Back in Time, The More this Cascade of Changes is going to affect everything.
5) The Kind of Time Travel that most universally used in Fiction; is Multiple Timelines, which is most inconsistent & problematic. Either there are =Already= An Infinite Number of Timelines & ‘Other Dimensions’ that The Time Traveler merely jumps to, Never changing anything, but merely existing in A TimeLineage that is consistent with what they ‘Think’ they’re accomplishing, but any Changes that they ‘Think or Believe’ that they’ve made, only apply to them. All The People that they’ve left behind in The Disaster Universe, will forever be trapped in The Disaster Universe. _Rick & Morty_ seems to adhere scrupulously to this Model.
The Other Variation on this is that each time The Time Traveler attempts to change something, they spawn A New Timeline, which is again completely separate from their Original Timeline, & that all their loved ones in The Disaster Universe, are still trapped there.
& If The Time Traveler tries to ‘Go Back’ to their ‘Original Timeline’, they would merely be creating another New Timeline. Once you go down this path, you will never be able to return to your own, Original Timeline, which is The Same as you left it anyway.
- - -
There are a Few Other Models; But they are very Rarely Considered.
One is where you deform Time Locally, which requires you to ‘Snap Time Back’ when you’re done with your mischief. As in all Variants of Time Travel, The Consideration of ‘What have i done!?’ comes into play.
Another is; The Time Traveler climbs into An Isolation Chamber which shields them from An External ‘Effect’ which Causes Time Outside The Capsule to Flow Backwards, Until The Chrononaut arrives at The Desired Time Period. Then The External Effect is ‘Turned Off’ & Time Proceeds to flow forward again. The most egregious problem with this method is that The Chrononaut themself is isolated from flowing backwards, so that there is a ‘Hole’ in their Original Timeline which creates many problems !
- - -
So anyways:
Problems with Avengers: End Game ( 2019 )
- -
In The Spirit of Time Travel; i may jump around here a little bit.
- -
Although early on; Bruce Hulk says that they can’t change The Past; Hawkeye performs an experiment ( Not at all conclusively ) in which he ostensibly changes The Past. ( Maybe his son had 2 baseball gloves ? )
So that is laid down at that point as Canon.
You can change The Past.
- -
So they all jump back & forth in Time, Meddling in Time, While None of their Actions seemingly change their ‘Present’ Time =At All= ( !!! )
- -
Ignoring that.
- -
At one point Hawkeye & Black Widow retrieve The Infinity Soul Stone; - - - Apparently changing their Principle Timeline where Thanos obtains it, Which is obviously their objective ( ? )
But wouldn’t this mean that Thanos doesn’t have an opportunity to Murder Gamora, which means that The Gamora that is Star Lord’s Sweetie, is still alive in this New Timeline ( ? )
But apparently; She isn’t ( ? )
- -
Jump Jump Jump some more.
- -
Later they obtain The Mind Stone ( Twice ! ) which The Robot AI ( Jarvis; e.g.; Vision ) uses to infuse it/him with Life. But if Tony Stark has stolen it before then; Vision can Not come into Existence, which means that Vision is missing from all Intermediate Events, which is apparently Not ‘Considered’ at all. ( ? ) Remember what i was saying about ‘The Cascade of Changes’ earlier in this Rant ( ? )
- -
More Jumping. With More inconsistencies that i have Not found ‘Objectionable’ ( ? )
- -
End of The Film.
Bruce Hulk Partially Restores their Reality, retaining Tony Starks daughter.
But then; Thanos & Evil Gamora & Evil Nebula jump through Time, having apparently obtained One Tiny Element of The Time Travel Methodology that was elaborated on in Great Detail earlier on ( !!! )
More Hilarity Ensues.
- -
Then; Tony Stark obtains all The Infinity Stones, & puts them into his own Glove ( one size fits all ) & Undoes a Tiny, Tiny Fraction of The Melee that has occupied The Last Third of Film. Why didn’t he undo a greater slice of that pie ( ? )
- -
Then - - - In order to - - Set Things Right ( !!! )
Captain America ( in Full Restored Regalia ) is assigned The Job of Going back in Time to ‘Restore’ all of The Infinity Stones to their ‘Rightful Places’ ( ? )
Which is just UnFawking-Doing everything that they just accomplished wouldn’t it ( ? ) ( !!! )
Captain America is going back in Time to When Thanos was still fully operational, so that all of these Infinity Stones are Now where he needs them to be, to steal them, as he originally did, to ‘Redo’ what he ‘Originally-Did’ ( ? )
Either that; Or Captain America is Creating an Entirely New Timeline which ( Cascade of Changes again ) will completely Undo Everything that The Avengers Just Accomplished. ( in Some Crazy New Version ? )
- -
Also :
This brings up two comparatively ’Subtle’ Points of TimeTravel…
One of Which; is that when Bruce Hulk & Black Panther send Captain America Back, they should =Immediately= Disappear; because; The Purpose of sending him back in Time has completely Disappeared ! Since all The Infinity Stones are =Now= Where they should be. !
Or - - -
Alternatively :
When Captain America Goes back & Restores The Infinity Stones ( ReInitializing The Original Dire Events ( !!! ) ) & then decides to change The Mission Plan by jumping off to be with Peggy, his WWII Sweetheart; Bruce Hulk & Black Panther should have immediately forgotten who Captain America was, as he’d dropped out of their Timeline ( Again; Completely Ignoring The Entirely Necessary Cascade of Changes ( !!! ) )
- - -
Plus all of The Other Things.
- - -
Avengers : End Game
Is The Absolutely Worst Time Travel Film Ever.
