i have a noisy neighbor. ( Ted Means Upstairs! )
as a side note to this;
i came out of my room the other day,
and when i passed my next door neighbor's room on this floor,
i noticed that they ( manny & his girlfriend ) had their stereo up like full blast...!
So i went back to my room,
closed the door and stood there for a moment...
i could Not hear a peep from their room...!!!
So anyways...
The noise that comes from Ted's room is exactly that weird kind of noise that bothers me the most.
Which is not just noise.
i don't really mind noise, as noise.
When i was a street person on The Big Island, in Hilo,
i slept next to this aquaduct that had like a million frogs in it,
And that noise didn't bother me at all.
i slept like the kind of baby that sleeps very peacefully,
Without fussing all night.
The kind of noise that really bothers me;
Is noise that i can barely hear.
Especially when it's voices, like from a TV.
So that my brain will try to figure out what they're saying,
But i can't quite make it out.
Another kind of noise,
Which is basically the same kind of 'almost' noise,
Is when a stereo is blasting through a wall or floor/ceiling and only some of the frequencies are coming through!
Or when they are playing a stereo so loud that the speakers stop generating the music from the radio or record player,
But just vibrate.
And this is what many people think IS Rock & Roll.
Not the Music, Just the vibrations.
So there are those two kinds of noise that really annoy me—
And also;
Just Really Loud Music or Aimless Guitar Strumming.
Or Sports...
So that's Five kind of sounds...
And Ted uses them all against me,
All Day & All Night long.
Most Every Day,
Especially on The Weekends.
And i hate to complain...
Because the noise coming through,
In most cases,
Is just on the edge of being too loud.
It's VERY Annoying,
But it's not REALLY too loud.
i would come off as crazy person complaining about it...
And also;
i'm thinking,
Is this just one of the things that reasonable people have to put up with,
Living in technological community...
Plus:
Most people have to suffer through a huge amount of nonsense every day,
And here i am living in Paradise.
Maybe this is a very inconsequential burden that i am fated to carry ( ??? )
i am really of two minds concerning this.
Another Argument i have for situations like this—
Is when you Allow someone to misbehave,
You are giving them permission to continue misbehaving.
So that when they are condemned to hell for all eternity,
Are you partly or entirely responsible...!!!
??? !
Do i ever make too much noise for my neighbors.
i don't think so.
i don't even have stereo, and i hate watching TV.
And i listen to everything throught headphones.
i like the superiour sound quality from headphones,
And it's much easier to hear movie conversational speech with headphones.
So for seveal months ( 3 years ) i've been looking for some really nice headphones that will block out external sounds,
So i can just listen to what i want to,
Without the layering of sounds that come from the outer world...!
Also;
i wear earplugs almost all the time,
And i've really gotten used to living in complete silence.
Although;
This imposed state of sensory deprivation has increased the amount of schizophrenic voices that i hear.

With my last rather expensive purchase from Sears of some Big Earmuff Headphones that didn't block out external sounds very well ( actually; not at all )—
i was thinking that because my earplugs are actually pretty good at this,
Wouldn't be be nice if there was a set of headphones that were essentially earplugs,
With headphones on one end,
And would feed the sound through a pipette to my head...!
So after thinking about this at the end of July for awhile,
i went out August 1st to return some books
& Run over to Staples to get some ink cartridges,
Paper suitable for making my own tarot cards & Postcards,
A corner trimer
And found, By chance, Some headphones of exactly the kind i was looking for the last 3 years, For about $12...!
They are called SkullCandy™ by Ink'D.
When the sound it off,
they work exactly like perfectly effective earplugs!
So when i got home,
i tried them out while Ted was blasting his TV and i could not hear it at all...!!!

Another Wondrous thing i found recently was Google Earth.
It is a little different than Google Maps,
Which allow you to view the entire Earth Surface with images from Space Satellites...
Google Earth is Essentially the Same Thing...
Except that the interface comes from an application that you load into your comptuer,
And somehow stores vast swatches of Earth Topography at a time,
So that you can fly over it!
So instead of just looking at a Snap Shot of the Earth,
As in Google Maps,
Google Earth has an Airplane Simulator with it,
That allows you to go to anywhere on The Earth and just fly over it!
The Interface to control The Airplane isn't quite as easy to use as the one that came with my old F/A 18 Hornet Game Demo
( i never did buy the whole game, the demo alone satisfied me completely...!!! )
But i think that i'll get the hang of it eventually.
Also; With The F/A 18 Demo,
The ground that i flew over was just simple polygons,
But with Google Earth... IT'S THE REAL EARTH...!
How detailed is it?
i was thinking that with the 'Good' Pictures, it's about 2 feet.
That is;
i can see the front and back windshields of automobiles in parking lots.
In many cases;
In the Cities; Google Sketchup provides models of Buildings.
So that many cities look 'Kind of' like real cities.
Only some of the buildings are provided,
As these buildings are provided by ordinary people that make them
With the Free Application Sketchup that Google provides them with.
This Sketchup is An Amazingly Easy tool to use for making 3D objects.
It takes a little practice to learn how to use, But it's VERY powerful.
The models are not exactly Ray-Tracing Quality,
But they have real shadows, and lots of details.

Another Amazing Application that i got with my MacBook,
That i've really wanted to get for the longest time,
Is Garage Band.
The Primary Function of it is to allow Garage Bands to Mix their own Sound Recordings.
This mixing means that you can record each instrumental track, digitally, & then edit it, note for note, and then mix all the instruments together, with vocals and other sound tracks into a final product!!!
But also:
You can use Garage Band to Write your own music,
And get the computer to play it for you,
With a wide range of electronic instruments,
Sound effects,
Sound tracks & Tracks that you record yourself or find on the internet...!!!
It allows you to add many instrumental tracks that you've written,
So that you can build up an entire symphony piece...!!!

Curiously; While i've been Dreaming of having access to many of these programs for a very long time, now that i have them,
they intimidate me...!!!
i have tried them out, but i haven't really thrown myself on them yet.
Some other Fabulous programs that i like are:
Chipmunk Basic
An easy to use Programming Language, but i'm having some trouble figuring out how to use some of the most elemental features...
The Documentation that comes with it, is very poor!
Pages '08 & Graphic Converter
These are image processing programs that should be allowing me to make some really nice collages and process my watercolors...
If only i would get going with them...!
Grapher
Is kind of a simple Math Thingy that allows you to plot 2 & 3D graphs.
These can be very pretty, But i haven't yet sat down to read all the instructions to learn how to use it...!
iTunes
i've been snubbing my nose at iPods for the last few years,
But iTunes has shown me how useful digital music can be...!
Instead of lugging around a huge case of CD's, Tape Cartridges or LP Records;
You can put every song that you've ever listened to in your entire life, into a tiny device, smaller than a match box.
It is convenient.

Recent Mischief
Lately;
i've been leaving comments and even testimonials on Flickr,
Of the sort that starts off reassuring the recipient that i really like their work... But.
So i was doing this yesterday, and this guy that was administering this group...
It turns out - Reluctantly - for his sister that skedaddled off from Flickr to sell her handmade cards, got one of my missives.
Before she left, she indolently started a group that she called Handmade Cards.
But she didn't really 'Set it up' at all...
It didn't even have a Group Icon...!!!
So that's what i was principally whining about.
The Missing Icon.
So this guy; The Reluctant Administrator, Made me an Administrator!
And i promptly made just about everyone else in the group an Administrator,
Because that's my philosophy for Flickr Groups.
If you 'Get It'; Then you should be promoted to Administrative Status.
i belonged to another group awhile ago,
That was - Not - a Serious Group, and it made EVERYONE an Administrator,
And one of them deleted everyones pictures.
So it is Dangerous.
So i draw the line on whether or not, they 'Get it'...!
Anyways...
The Group is Handmade Cards.

NASA is driving my Crazy...!!!
Another Probe Doesn't Look for Life...!!!
It just seems completely crazy to me that NASA keeps sending probes to Mars that are very specifically designed NOT TO LOOK FOR LIFE...!!!
On those occasions when they are supposed to be looking for Life,
The Experiments are Carefully Contrived to Almost Look for Life...!!!
So that; After the test it done, they can say;
“Well; Maybe, Maybe Not.”
Ugh!
Why not put a Microscopic Lens Attachment onto one of The Cameras,
Scoop up a soil sample,
Add several recipes of various enriched nutrients into several little cups,
Warm them up a bit,
Then put some drops from these cups onto some Slides...
AND LOOK AT THE DANG THINGS...!!!
If something is wiggling around.
Wouldn't that be interesting.
i am really coming to believe, as Richard Hoagland apparently does,
That there is something very fishy going on at NASA.
Why would they want to keep it so ambiguous...
And why does NASA play down all The Amazing Images that the orbital probes send back to us...???

It's a woman that's ostensibly become a man in appearance only...!!!
i fully expect that a real, biologically male person will give birth sometime in the near future,
if it hasn't happened already,
but this isn't it.
It's actually my understanding that you could take a fertilized human embryo and just implant it anywhere in the body of any man or woman,
It would parasitically implant itself, and begin to grow into a baby.
Typically when this happens in women—
When the fertilized eggs doesn't make into the uterus,
Or actually falls away from the fallopian tubes,
Implanting itself somewhere in her abdominal cavity,
There are complications that prevent the baby from coming to term...
But given that the biology of the process really doesn't need a uterus,
It seems likely that a reasonably comfortably spot could be artificially laid out inside a male somewhere to accommodate a baby for at least the 5 months or so that medical science currently requires for the baby to spend inside a human host.

On the TV just now;
Another Slopeheaded Y-Generation Amateur Model
Claimed that she was proud to be an American
Because she was Free
& As Evidence for this,
She Could Vote!
There are several different direction to go from this;
Principally that it's all a scam,
On every level, from every direction...
But i would like to Propose; Instead:
A Thought/Real/Proposed Experiment.
This might be conducted by a History Professor...
Get your Least Favorite Graduate Students to Examine all The President's Legacies,
And rather fuzzily—
List all their accomplishments, policies, exploits, fiascoes & such...
—So that even The Unbiased Jury that is chosen to examine these lists,
Will not be tipped off by Obvious, or Blatantly Overly Promoted History Fallacies.
Then present this list of lists,
To a foreign historian or political analyst,
Or several of them,
And ask them to determine what the ideological foundation
Or political party of the president was
That represented all these achievements & travesties...?
i predict that their identifications will be no better than chance.
Not only is our political system rigged
So that Any Modestly Financed, Independent Scholars
That might actually make a decent president,
Simply Can Never become President,
But it's also rigged that your votes don't count for squat,
But we don't even have a so-called Two Party System.
We have One Party;
The Mysterious Shadow Government.
A Totalitarian Dictatorship
That has to constantly tell you that you're free.

i really, really, really believe that most people are not genuinely conscious.
They are just wind up toys
That you can fill up with any crap
That you've got an old bathtub full of.
This is why our government is trying to convert the world to democracies,
They are easiest populations to control by means of unregulated media outlets.
Free Speech is actually the greatest enemy to Our Freedom of Thought.

What i find—

And there are NONE..!!!
i just can not get my Head around the idea that many of my classmates
Are leaving NO TRAIL at all on the Interweb...???

Mean Brother...???
Right upstairs there's this guy ( or brothers ) named Mean...
And Jim ( below me ) was saying that there's two brothers that live there,
But i ran into one of them ( 2nd time in 3 years, first conversation, if you want to call it that; it consisted of me blathering a bit, and him saying; ‘I'm the only one that lives there.’ )
So he says, after i suggest my hypothesis that of the two brothers, one is nearly deaf, and the other has normal hearing, and he says: “I'm the only one that lives there.”
i can just hardly believe that Jim has been filling me with disinformation,
Even though he is very crazy...???
But the other thing— This Mean guy seems VERY crazy to me.
Way crazier than either me or Jim.
i'll have to talk to Jim about this.
He hangs around the front door just about all the time,
And knows everything about everything.

Entropy
One of my grand Pet Peeves ( Bête Noires ) is the idea of Entropy.
i just don't believe that there is such a thing.
One major problem that i have with it is, Is that it's often defined in terms of 'Order',
And when you go to the dictionary and look up what Order really means—
Each Definition requires a Subjective Observer to come in and declare what is Orderly or DisOrderly.
There's no Objective Criteria for Knowing if Something is Orderly or Not.
One Potential Definition for Orderly is whether or not you can -Compress- the Information in a Particular -Thing- into a smaller Set, And retain all the original information.
If you can do this; Then you're exploiting a facet of the original systems order.
The problem with this is that there are many cases in which by all appearances,
Something may seen very, very disorderly, Completely random--
And yet; There may well be a PseudoRandom Number Generator that can reproduce that system,
And as evidence that this is almost certainly possible—
It is quite easy to make any number of PseudoRandom Number Generators that will produce 'Other' seeming Random sets that display all the artifacts and apparent patterns or lack of patterns, as the original set.
But i was just thinking of a Case Explanation this morning...
Take the case of The Egg that is pushed off the table,
And Entropy allegedly causes The Egg to break,
And become a Broken Egg.
These are just labels that we attach to things
So that we can more easily identify things for no good reason.
The Universe;
Looking down upon us, and seeing The Egg or Broken Egg
Just sees different States that The Atoms in The Egg have arranged themselves into.
The Universe doesn't really make a Qualitative Distinction Between
The Egg & The Broken Egg.
They are essentially The Same to The Universe.
They are just Arrangements of Atoms.
Another way to see this is to think of Eskimos.
They are supposed to have 147 words for Yellow Snow...
Depending upon the time of day,
or how yellow it is,
or if it's sweet or too sweet,
or if it's a little bloody
or if semen is mixed in with it...
Each particular case has a distinct word,
And many of them don't even sound at all alike.
So with Our Egg Example.
We have a Word or Technical Description for The Egg,
And another Technical Description for The Broken Egg.
But if you take The Broken Egg,
Scoop it up and set in back on The Table And push it back off,
It will have inflicted into it,
All the Energy and Kinetic Force that The Egg Endured on it's first Trip down...
But We don't really have a Term for Broken Broken Egg,
Even though it will have twice the amount of Disorder ( So Entropy Claims ) as The Simple Broken Egg.
Each time you redrop The Egg,
It's going to CHANGE again,
And while it may never again resemble The Egg,
It will no more resemble The First Tier Broken Egg Either...!
The Distinction that we make between The First Tier Broken Egg
And The 20th Tier Broken Egg

It not making Value Judgments at any Itineration.

i just don't believe that there is such a thing.
One major problem that i have with it is, Is that it's often defined in terms of 'Order',
And when you go to the dictionary and look up what Order really means—
Each Definition requires a Subjective Observer to come in and declare what is Orderly or DisOrderly.
There's no Objective Criteria for Knowing if Something is Orderly or Not.
One Potential Definition for Orderly is whether or not you can -Compress- the Information in a Particular -Thing- into a smaller Set, And retain all the original information.
If you can do this; Then you're exploiting a facet of the original systems order.
The problem with this is that there are many cases in which by all appearances,
Something may seen very, very disorderly, Completely random--
And yet; There may well be a PseudoRandom Number Generator that can reproduce that system,
And as evidence that this is almost certainly possible—
It is quite easy to make any number of PseudoRandom Number Generators that will produce 'Other' seeming Random sets that display all the artifacts and apparent patterns or lack of patterns, as the original set.
But i was just thinking of a Case Explanation this morning...
Take the case of The Egg that is pushed off the table,
And Entropy allegedly causes The Egg to break,
And become a Broken Egg.
These are just labels that we attach to things
So that we can more easily identify things for no good reason.
The Universe;
Looking down upon us, and seeing The Egg or Broken Egg
Just sees different States that The Atoms in The Egg have arranged themselves into.
The Universe doesn't really make a Qualitative Distinction Between
The Egg & The Broken Egg.
They are essentially The Same to The Universe.
They are just Arrangements of Atoms.
Another way to see this is to think of Eskimos.
They are supposed to have 147 words for Yellow Snow...
Depending upon the time of day,
or how yellow it is,
or if it's sweet or too sweet,
or if it's a little bloody
or if semen is mixed in with it...
Each particular case has a distinct word,
And many of them don't even sound at all alike.
So with Our Egg Example.
We have a Word or Technical Description for The Egg,
And another Technical Description for The Broken Egg.
But if you take The Broken Egg,
Scoop it up and set in back on The Table And push it back off,
It will have inflicted into it,
All the Energy and Kinetic Force that The Egg Endured on it's first Trip down...
But We don't really have a Term for Broken Broken Egg,
Even though it will have twice the amount of Disorder ( So Entropy Claims ) as The Simple Broken Egg.
Each time you redrop The Egg,
It's going to CHANGE again,
And while it may never again resemble The Egg,
It will no more resemble The First Tier Broken Egg Either...!
The Distinction that we make between The First Tier Broken Egg
And The 20th Tier Broken Egg

Platypus DNA Proves RID Theory...!!!
RID = A Reasonably Intelligent Designer.

Nightmares
i didn't use to have nightmares at all, But now i'm starting to have them all the time.
A Variation on Nightmares that i used to have, rarely— Was a Loop Dream in which i would dream a short 15 second segment of something, usually a piece of trying to solve a puzzle, and then i would dream it again, verbatim, again & again.
And if i woke up, i would try to shake it off, But as soon as i fell asleep again, the loop would start again.
This last one was; As much as i can remember of it...
i was hired as a technical writer for a large electronic research company.
When i got to the town where i'd be working, they took me to an apartment that they'd found for me. It was small but i thought it was OK. i put down my stuff, met a lady administrator or secretary that worked for the company and a fat engineer that was nice but flaky.
They'd left out a large cup of coffee for me, but it was cold. The lady suggested that we go over to the cafeteria to get it refilled, so i went with her. For some reason, i left everything behind, including my key and bookbag, which i usually take Everywhere.
When we got to the cafeteria, there was some confusion about whether or not i would have to pay. The lady started giving me this very long lecture on whether i would or not, and it became so frustrating that i turned to a guy sitting at a table to ask him. This might be where i met the fat guy...??? His answer was no more enlightening, so i left to go back to my apartment to get some money.
The Cafeteria was around the corner from where i lived, and the reverse path would take me down a alley, but i walked too far and after a few blocks and seeing some things that i was sure i would have remember seeing, but didn't, i was sure that i'd walked to far.
When i turned around, i discovered that i was on the other side of a fence, and i couldn't go back. The path had turned into a very, very narrow ledge above a very deep gorge.
Fortunately; i could get back to the alley by crawling through a hole, through a railing and back to the other side.
On the way back, i ran into several more obstacles, including at least two places where the alley just seemed to change into something else...
[ i seem to recall ( now ) that i had a dream with a similar theme a week or two ago ]
...despite these minor obstacles, i managed to get back to the alley each time.
Then i ran into the guy that i'd met earlier.
He offered to give me something, but i was unsure of what it was until he pulled it out of his bookbag. It was an yellow shipping envelope with two CD's in it. One was much bigger than the other, and irregularly shaped. And they were very Thick & Orange with a checkered pattern on them. i was impressed with the design, since apparently he'd done them himself.
i wanted him to walk me back to my room, but he stayed with some friends of his that there there, so he didn't.
Then i found what i thought was my room, but the ceiling was impossibly low, so i had to crouch over to crab around. It looked similar to how i remembered seeing my room earlier than afternoon, but now it was filthy and all my stuff was missing, except for one of the three keys that i'd seen earlier.
Then some crazy police officers arrived and discovered that the CD's were cases with pot in them. i volunteered to take a blood test to prove i didn't smoke pot. i also tried to explain that i was looking for my room, and this was similar, but i was sure it wasn't it. But they wouldn't let me go to find it. It was getting dark and i really wanted to leave, but they wouldn't let me go, or arrest me.
There were lots more details that i remember, but are too tedious to include.
It was one of those very vivid dreams. Where do they come from.

More Word Problems...
So the other day i used the word Septagon in a document and got a spellcheck flag for it...???
i've always thought of a seven sided object as a Septagon and was befuddled by this flag on this word...
i looked it up in my MacDictionary and Franklin Electronic Dictionary and Neither had it...!!!
Wikipedia says that The OED recognizes it was Equivalent to a Heptagon.
This sort of thing happens to me all the time.
i'm sure that a word exists and my dictionaries say that it does not exist, and then when i check for it on the Internet, The Internet says that it does Exist...!!!
i'm seriously loosing faith in Dictionaries...!!!

Words that Aren't Quite Words...
i went online again today to find a word that my Franklin & Macintosh Dictionaries refused to consider a real word...
i've done this before; and have gotten several hits on Google, suggesting that there are countless other people that consider these words real words, and given that words come from usage and not authority, i take any confirmation of them as validation.
Todays Word: Befret. Apparently it is likely that this is a distortion of Bereft. Since they are used in the same sense.
Another Example: Insundry or Asundry. Sundry is a real word and All & Sundry is a common aphorism, Such that the Contraction of All & Sundry should easily be A'sundry or Asundry.
Insundry is close enough. After all; You know what i mean... Don't you?
Irregardless is in such wide usage that i don't see how anyone can argue about it anymore.
Indescript is essentially the same as NonDescript, which means Not Noteworthy.
i would very much like a Dictionary that keeps up with the usage of words on the internet, which is pretty close to the actual usage of words in The Spoken Form.
Dictionaries have always lagged behind Actual Usage, and all i want to see is that this is recognized.

The other day i was coming home from Safeway and met my floormate; Elaine on the bus.
When we got off the bus, The bus stopped in the middle of the block due to traffic, And Elaine headed toward the corner to cross at the light...
But i went the other way, the shorter way, and when i noticed that the traffic had cleared in both directions, i crossed in the middle of the block.
So when i got to my building, Jim was standing out in front and the first thing he asked me was if i J-Walked across Monroe...!!!
He couldn't possibly have seen me, and this was a very odd question for him to ask.
???

Simple Test to See What Blogger HTML Looks Like...???

i'm only trying this because my experiment to transfer Text Edit HTML to this blog failed...!!!
The Blogger HTML seems to be subtly, or not so very much, different from Text Edit HTML...???
Standardized Big Text
Any attempt to modify the Bigger Text HTML to make it bigger seems to fail...???
It appears gigantic in the edit window, but is reduced to normal size when posted...!

i really have to get my own service provider... But if i do, i know i'll end up spending all day on the internet, and as it is, i'm actually getting a tiny amount done on other projects, and i'm forced to get out of my room a few times a week this way too...
But anyways; When i left my room today, i took out a bag of garbage, and when i'd gotten about a block from my building, i realized that i was still holding the bag...!!!
Senility, it doesn't seem to be as bad as i've heard it would be.

Svalbard...
Something Odd...
i noticed the other day on my Flickr account that this Map Dealie; provided by Flickr Toys, Showed a collection of islands above Europe that i was completely unfamiliar with...???
Apparently they're a part of Norway; called Svalbard.
i have never noticed them before...
They are much higher than Iceland, which i had always thought of as the highest landmass in The Atlantic...
So to compound this;
Since just learning of them a few days ago;
i keep coming across new references to them...
Such as this New Reptilian Dinosaur...!
It's like reality is just making itself up as it goes along.
And this sort of thing is happening to me all the time...
i think it's evidence that The Reality Generator that creates my existence is not really very clever and once it comes up with something good—
It just recycles it over and over for awhile; And then, in a week or so; It will stop reminding me that this Island Group exists, and i'll never see any references to it ever again.

i can not get this to work...!!!
it just seems like this should be the simplest thing in the world to do, but i can't figure out how to do it...!!!
i simply want to create a document on a simple word processor, with some colored text and italics and bolds and so on... Maybe with some tab setting...
And then copy and paste it onto my blog...
But the moment that i do, it's all striped down to raw text...!!!

Ugh & Ugh...!!!
Well— i was sure that i'd saved all the old links that appeared on The Side Bar of my old Blog Template...
But Incredibly; ( or not incredibly ) i have misplaced or lost them...!!!
i'm fairly sure that most of them may be recovered by tediously sifting through my eepmail archives to find various connective links to mailartists and such, but it may be awhile before a suitably puisant bipolar swing allows me to accomplish this...???
i've also realized that all ( or most ) of my posts were colorized in a manner that highlighted various features, pursuant to the old colour scheme, but will now have to be recalibrated...
What a Nuisance...!!!
Like anyone really cares.

i've been very depressed lately because i'm getting so little attention paid to my Flickr/Family Snap Shots Project...!!!
So that i haven't felt inclined to do anything...!!!
But this proposal did occur to me, for a chrstmsa card...

Ways that Zmass is Better than either Xmass or Ymas
Given that Xmass is the Celebration of Christ's Birth...
Ymas was the corruption of this holiday by introducing Santa Claus & The Commercialization of the holiday...
Zmass is the complete overhaul of X & Y masses to integrate a new holiday into the fundamental spiritual, social & economic needs of The Damp Masses leading up The Reevaluation of our culture in the year 2012.
( Which curiously; will occur around December 21st. )
Faux holiday that is based on an imaginary deity whose teachings more accurately reflect the mores of post 911 western civilization.
Rules of present giving is clearly delineated and enforced by law.
Chrstmsa trees that are all electric lights, festooned with tiny bows of evergreen twigs.

It's taking me way too long to get going on this again...???
i had a very bad experience with LINUX the past few days...!!!
Linux is supposed to be the hot new Operating System that is going to replace The Wintel and Macintosh Operating Systems... But i now have severe doubts about this... It is; i now suspect, just as Evil as the other two...!!!

The problem arose when i tried to download and install an HP48 emulator/simulator on my new MacBook, and there were some immediate difficulties... One being that i had to find and download a copy of an HP48's internal memory... These are somewhat proprietary and so you have to do that on your own... Which includes swearing to the website where i downloaded it from, that i own an HP48gx already...

So i think i managed to do that; But then amoung all the files that were allegedly the emulator, i couldn't find anything that looked like the application...???

So i went and asked the experts on the HP48 newsgroup, and then the real craziness started.

To cut right to the chase scene, i would need to know how to operate the Unix command structure underneath the Mac OSX, and execute a variety of commands to 'build' the simulator.
None of this was explained with the documentation that came with the simulator, and the experts on the HP48 newgroup thought that these 'steps' were so obvious that they repeated neglected to mention them to me, although my level and expression of frustration were steadily mounting over the course of about 3 days...!!!

i have officially given up trying to install this simulator.
It would appear that i would have to learn the entire Linux/Unix Operating System, just to have enough foundational knowledge before someone could explain to me, in any kind of reasonable way, how to get this simulator to work.

Happy BarfDay...!!!
i just had another birthday ( turned 12 ) and my mom got me a new computer; The MacBook; Black...
So hopefully; i'll start posting to this blog again...
The first project is to fully update Owie: BrokenHip
Which took a strange turn for the Wierd when i got to Spokane and i had to have all the lego blocks that they put in, in Hawai'i, taken out and replace with tinker toys.
What a nusance!
So it should have taken 8 weeks for me to get back on my feet, and it took closer to 18 months...!!!
oh well.
So hopefully; i'll start posting to this blog again...

Search Engines are Sooooo Stupid...!!!
Gawd! i hate computers, and The Internet...!!!
i would really like to access a search engine that worked with me for a few moments and then went out and found what i was really looking for, rather than superficially return millions of 'hits' that have absolutely NOTHING to do with what i'm looking for...!!!
The ideal search engine would help me catorgerize what the subject of my search is, and then properly qualify that princple heading so that it would only be looking for the ONE thing that i'm actually looking for...
This may take a few minutes, but after awhile, the user would learn how to frame the question, so that the search engine would be happy with it immediately...!

When i was in the Eighth Grade, we spent hours and hours each day diagraming sentences...!
i find it hugely annoying that no one has been able to apply that tedium towards something usefull, like understanding simply requests in typewritten form...???!!!

New Formats...!!! ( ??? )
So anyways...
Blogger has recently changed their formats, or something something to a New & Improved Version...!!! and i've been having a Horrible time trying to figure it all out...!!! Especially; simply logging in...!!!
It's at times like this that i seriously worry about the damp masses, seeing as i have an extra fat iq, and i'm having all this trouble, how do ordinary hamsters manage through life...
( more irrefutable evidence for angels maybe...??? )

Best Recent Film [a
i've been watching a bunch of films from Netflix and many of them have been horrible - most notably 'five easy pieces' & 'easy rider' -- i can not imagine how either of these films became cinematographic icons ????
the best film i've seen recently is a fun 'romantic comedy' : my super ex girlfriend : it is very silly, clever & enjoyable - i watched it twice - which is high praise since ive been fast forwarding through most of the films i've been getting lately.

i have been gone from this blog for a few months because i recently had a partial hip replacement ( the top of my right femur is now predominantly plastic and cobalt ) So i've been in the Hospital, then a care facility, then home, sleeping mostly... and i still don't have a computer of my own.

A Tiny Update
If you're curious about my recent thoughts and such, i am most active on the internet ( hardly at all really ) on The HP48 Newsgroup:

The HP48, if you're wondering, is a programable calculator, that has been superceeded in recent years by a number of 'newer' calculators, but the site is still called the HP48 Newsgroup, because all the newer ones suck donkey bile.

i finally got around to seeing Disney's 'The Black Hole'!
i was expecting it to be awful and it was pretty awful, but not as bad as my worst case senarios. The ending was awful though. It could have been worse in that they might have escaped the black hole, but thankfully, they were all sucked into it; except for Ernst Borgnine, who was blown up by the evil robots, and Anthony Perkins who was sliced and diced by the evilt robots ( this was one of the most annoying aspects of this movie... An evil robot with a cusinart attached to its manicals. )
The awful part was that it was unresolved, to my satisfaction, as to what was on the other side.
The good thing ( one of the good things ) about NetFlix is that it allows you to watch really bad movies, because it's so convenient to do so...!

i have an appointment on the 25th to see a doctor about getting my leg finally fixed, or perhaps he'll tell me that it can't be fixed within the parameters of my health insurance...???

The Continuum of Craziness Persists...
So i switched over to Tracfone from Cingular to get away from the extremely evil company cingular, and then i discovered that Tracfone is actually Cingular with a different halloween mask on...!!!

On Sept. 20th, i went over to see Dr. Mark Olson and he told me that my leg is not getting worse, but it's not getting better either, and the angle of the brace is about 20 degrees off true...???!!! and that unless this huge gap of missing bone fills in, essentially immediately, he want to arrange for another doctor to pull out all the old crap in my leg and put in new crap...

Getting back to Tracfone, i just TODAY noticed that the address that Waldomart had written down for my address is WRONG, and that this is probably why i have not recieved the new SIM card that i need to pull my old phone number to my new phone...!!! Plus-- i have tried three times to contact their techical support service over the internet and once by phone and been turned away by either technical difficulties or lack of appropriate automated choices...!!!
i hate cingular.

More Extreme Craziness...
More things have been happening that are too crazy for you to believe, and so crazy that i think that i'm just making them up...!!! Wheneven i try to tell someone around here what is happening to me, i feel compelled to provide them with some kind of documentation or the testimony of another person before i can expect them to buy into any of this...!!!

As you may already know, all the physical therapy that i've been doing to make my leg stronger, has probably been hurting it more, since it turns out that i have osteoperoses ??? and it's not healing properly, at all...!!! And so now, i'm supposed to be keeping ALL weight off it for gawd only knows how long...???

Then my Cell phone company decided ( Cingular ) to terminate my Billing Plan, and so, not only would i have to find a new billing plan, i would have to BUY A WHOLE NEW PHONE too...!!!
So i switched to a Tracfone, and i tried to get Cingular to switch my old phone number to the new phone, as they are required to; by LAW...!!! But they insist that it will take at least 2 weeks to switch...!!!
My phone number for the Tracfone is 1-509-842-8199, but i might switch back to my old number at any moment... ( 1-509-990-2750 )

Then; since i had to buy a new phone and i made a bunch of other crazy purchases the last few days, i ran over my checking account, for 2 days, and my Bank ( Washington Mutual ) charged me nearly 100$ in Overdrawn charges...!!! 27$ x 3
And two of those were on one day- The 7th...??? !!!
i'll have to look into that...!!!

Then i promised to get my Aunt, who i still owe 600$ for plane fare, a subscription to Netflix, but i'm so frazzled that i don't know if i will do that this month...!!!

Speaking of Netflix, the mail boxes in my new apartment building are so small that they won't accept the DVD's...!!!

Something kooky happened the other day while i was trying to access my blog via my cell phone and a weird message came up that seemed to relate to the Anomalous Genitalia Posting ( moved to Picoans ) But now, i can't seem to find that message...??? On the cell phone, it was a big Warning ( from Blogspot ??? ) with a note saying: What is this?, ( or - What does this mean? )
But now, it's disappeared...???

The Usual Craziness...
So i found out about 2 weeks ago...
That all the Physical Therapy that i'd been doing for the past 6 weeks was, in all probability, actually hurting my leg, since it wasn't healing properly to begin with...!!!
i'd asked my doctor here in Spokane to take an X-Ray when i first contacted him, and he assured me that the Physical Therapist would decide if i was healing 'on course' or not...
Well; after several weeks of unnecessary, and unaccounted for pain, i finally got the X-Ray that i'd been begging for, and it showed that the stem leading to the ball was 'Bent' and that i had Low Mineral Bones...???
And now; i'm supposed to be OFF the leg for at least a month, and then they're going to retest it, and see if i can get back into physical therapy or stay off it for another few months...!!!
ugh.

Since i'm still using the computers at the library, and i can only use them for an hour at a time, it may take awhile to type in all the data for my latest, extremely evil, cabbage code.

It is The Theory of Opposites.
What kinds of pictures should i be drawing...
i've been playing around with an old favorite; Anomalous Genitals...
But this seems as Old Hat as Bowls of Fruit, or Ocean Beaches....
So i'm thinking that the Next Big Thing in Art will be--
Opposites.
The trick here is finding some 'x' and then determining what it's Opposite is...
That's the trick.

Looking for an Old Computer...???
i'm looking for an older computer, a Mac maybe,
something that predates OSX, which i HATE...!!!
OSX is a total sell-out to the appearances of MS...!!!
You see this same trend with HP Calculators, they are looking more and more like TI Calculators...!!!
But anyways...
i would also like it to be a portable; laptop, or such, and have a CD burner built in...???
Also; since i'm so poor, i would like it to be around $200...!
This doesn't strike me as completely unreasonable, as the resale value of computers is amazingly low...
Perhaps this is why you never see old computers in Hock Shops...???
So if you've upgraded in the last few years, and have the old one still sitting in a closet, or a box in the basement, and would like to support the Consortium--
Then Thanx for considering us...!!!

This doesn't strike me as completely unreasonable, as the resale value of computers is amazingly low...
Perhaps this is why you never see old computers in Hock Shops...???

Anomalous Oddity of This Blog...
One of the Oddest things about this Blog, is that, from time to time, i will have an absolutely & unconditional certitude that i have entered onto this Blog a Page containing various items...
And then; At some later time-- i absolutely can not find it...!!!
Or-- i'll do an Internal Search of The Blog, for a particular term that i feel must exist on numerous pages, and it insists that there are "No References" for that term...???
Blogger has; i believe, from time to time, lost or forgotten pages, that later turn up again, or occasionally, i will be unable to find a page when looking for it, from one direction, only to have it turn up, when examining a set of pages that were retrieved in a slightly different manner...!!!

Forced to Use MicroS-
So i finally got around to working on my Owie Series: Broken Hip today,
Adding a new picture, and reorganizing all the other ones,
and intending to add some more text biddles,
Updating this crazy nonsense and so on...
and i get about half done with the tedious job of moving the pictures around in html code...!
Because this stupid Blog format won't let me just lift pictures up and move them around...
Noooo...
That would be too easy wouldn't it...
And This Stupid MS Internet Explorer decides, for no reason at all, to just; Up and quit...!!!
FAWK...!!!

Most Recent Row with Deana Crabtree
So last night; i was doing the dishes and discovered that the bottom of one of their Stainless Steel Traveling Coffee Mugs had popped off rather easily-- taking the hint, i then pulled off the top portion and washed the inside inner liner and let all the parts dry off in the dish rack.
This morning; i discovered that Deana had thrown all the parts away, thinking that it was 'Broken' ...! ...that i had 'taken out the inside' ...
Dang! i forgot her actual expression, but it was pure jibberish...!!!
So i asked her what she meant as she ran down stairs.
- no response.

This is very archetypal of her behaviour, and i got to thinking that it is exactly like my mother's behaviour...!!! That is; She will either respond with a completely inattentive & archived apposite remark -or- She will become completely hysterical.

Not that she apparently behaves this way around everyone...
As i mentioned before; everyone else loves her, in their eyes;
She is the most perfect little canary in the whole dang kitchen...
So what is it about me that brings this out in these two...???
i think it may be related to the aphorism:
"If you make someone think that they are thinking, then they will love you,
But if you make them actually think, then they will hate you."
i am absolutely terrible at making people think that they are thinking...!!!
Instead; i frequently ask questions or make comments which necessarily require the listener to engage both hemispheres of their grey quishy lumps.
Some people can't handle this.
So as long as she's participating in pointless bantering with Sandi or her boyfriend, then she is able to put on a happy face and appear to all the world that she is a little princess from faerieland.

When she came back upstairs, i asked her again what it was that was broken about the coffee mug...
( Looks very much like the first mug shown / Scroll down a little )
...and after a little more incoherient ranting, i came to believe, that she believed, that the inner lining of this mug, contained an Insulating 'Vacuum'...???
You may recall that such a design is called a:
Dewar flask n.
An insulated container used especially to store liquefied gases, having a double wall with a vacuum between the walls and silvered surfaces facing the vacuum.
It is typically used to store fluids such as Liquid Nitrogen, Oxygen or Hydrogen.
Not usually used for Hot Coffee or Ice Tea.

The curious thing about this is that while i was a street person, i would get the most glowing reports about her, That she was going to an exclusive Military Academe, or learning to Fly Airplanes or Spending the summer Fishing in Alaska, or raising Pigs.
But now that i've had some first hand experience with her...
i don't even believe that she's average.
( The dead giveaway for this may be seen in her extensive and tepid collection of videos and dvd's, The Complete Absence of Books in her Room; ( except for piles of Romance Novels ), The Games that she has for her X-Box, or The lack of interesting programs or games on her computer... Neither does she seem to create -Anything- Poetry, Journals, Documenting Ideas... again: except for numerous photographs of Flowers, that she's taken, that are routinely photographed, dead on, without the slightest suggestion of insightful perceptions...??? )

Clearly-- She seems to be an overachiver ( See: Rushmore, or Broadcast News for other notable overachievers ) but like all good overachievers, she's just a bit dumb.
And in the worst way--
That is:
She doesn't know it.

One of the great hallmarks of a genius- like me -is that i know i'm dumb and will freely admit ignorance when confronted with things that i don't understand, or when someone says something confusing or unintelligible... Unless of course; i have very good reasons for believing that the source of these unintelligible remarks is an imbecile.

i was talking to my sister Sandi this morning, ( Deana's Mother ) and i asked her what Deana's Academic Record consisted of throughout her years in The Public School system, and she said that Deana was A Straight A Student.

My opinion has been; Not just recently, but for years and years-- Perhaps having formed as early as the 7th or 8th Grade, was that The Straight A Students are Not the Smartest Ones.
The B- Students, and possibly lower, Often have the greatest intellectual potential, and are often much better 'Read' than The SAS's.
It's not simply that TSAS's take the easiest; No risk classes, or that they possess a higher than normal 'IQ' ; Specifically tailored to Manipulate or 'Suck up' to Authority Figures and other mildly willed Kingfishes...
...It is more than that--
They have experienced from their earliest days, A Pavlovian Behavioural Feedback Loop that has 'Taught' them to seek The Safest and Blandest Aquiescent Validation that is available.
And within The Public School System, This translates into Straight A's.
Everyone else that is struggling to form An Autonomous Personality and Self Actualize, is Turbulently & Brutally pushed away from those Inane, Capricious & Vain markings on their Report Cards.

It basically comes down to "How do they get those Straight A's?"
A: By accepting The Indoctrination Methods of The Public School System.
If you resist, and actually try to learn something...
You Will be Punished.
